This isn't risky, all u need to do is download and install the latest realplayer then when u register for basic version(free) u r entered.

I already had realplayer, so just updated with the new one and entered my details xx

When u install it, it asks u which version u want ( tick free basic) u then click to enter ur name and email xxx

Just downloads striaght away. doesn't ask which version or anything - am using FF

Now u need to Install, that is different from downloading, look in ur downloads folder and click on the exe, let it intsall, it asks u to close all windows, then when it has installed it will ask u to agree to it's licensing etc, and then give u an option of which version, tick basic, then it asks for your name and email, if u already have an acct from a previous realplayer it asks for that email and then finishes xxx

My download was sitting in a box after i shut my windows, it hadn't hidden away in a folder xx

I didn't have to download Real Player at all there was a box next to the Download button with a space to enter email address to win an ipad. Maybe becuase I already have an older version on my iMac.
