Hi Everyone
So I just got notiifcation of 5 tickets to see something recorded in Camden on Wednesday night. I live in Milton Keynes though my 3 friends are in Cheltenham and have no way of getting to London easily and cheaply...
One idea was:
I drive to Cheltenham (about 1 hour 30 mins)
From Cheltenham I drive to somewhere just outside London and we can get VERY cheap trains in
.. then I can drive back to Cheltenham after and stay with a friend...
Does anyone have any ideas of places on route from Chelt to London I could stay? The alternative is I drive all the way into Camden but I'd much prefer not driving into London due to how busy it is
Thanks :money:

Why can't your friends travel to London by train or coach?"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Its £40 for a train to London from Cheltenham working out at £120 for the 3 of them.. They're students.. nuff said?
MSE an all cheaper for me to drive
Plus I want to stay at one of my friends anyway...
If there is a cheap coach from Cheltenham though that would be a better option I imagine.. Is there?[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Drive down A40/M40 to somewhere like Hillingdon or Ickenham and get the tube.
This TFL page has some info.0 -
Sounds like a perfect plan Keith
Thanks!
Now the trouble is finding somewhere to watch the english match in the middle of all that travel
Thanks![FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Yes there is a cheap coach from Cheltenham to London - National Express still have £5 or £6 fares available on most departures next Wednesday and Megabus also do the route though more expensively on that particular day
And that rail fare doesn't sound right either - £11.50 singles look readily available0 -
Really? I just looked and it's £36.50 for off peak return from chelt to London with no cheaper singles (according to thetrainline)[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

£11.50 there (on some trains) on FGW a few minutes before I posted - maybe not suitable ones?0 -
Never used the FGW site direct.. Ok i'll try and get them to use that as means I can get to London before the world cup match[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

With advance singles for £70.50 depart 14:31, arrive 16:39, return last trains, total for your friends, and £14 off-peak return for you. You would need an efficient car (don't forget wear and tear) to beat that.0

Plus the value of staying at a *cough* certain friends house
I just wanted to know the best route reallyWill drive to the above tube station
