Paul McCartney - no tickets but took money!

Options
Gutting, was really looking forward to go and see Paul McCartney in Cardiff this month and I booked tickets through paulmccartneylive.net ages ago.
Just had an email to say they havent got any tickets left for us and to contact my CC to get my money back.

I'm really annoyed as I've always wanted to see him, has anyone else been in this boat and will it be easy for me to get my money back?

  • I've just received the same e-mail as you and am wondering what to do about it. I'm thinking of sending them a reply to say that my contract is with them rather than the people who supply their tickets and that I shouldn't need to contact my card company to claim the money back. As far as I'm concerned they've charged me for goods I haven't received so basically they're in breach of contract. However, I'm not sure if it'll get me anywhere, so like you I'd appreciate any advice!
  • Same problem with my Hampden Park tickets for 20th. I'm £315 down. I agree with Fuzzboy but I don't know what the legal situation is. Advice welcome. I'd rather have the tickets.

I can't really see what the credit card company has to do with this.

You ordered and paid for goods, which have not been supplied, so ticket company should refund the monies paid.
Maybe need a word with trading standards?

I see that there are still tickets available for the Cardiff gig from ticketmaster
  • Like you Richard, I just want the tickets - I'm tempted to go through the claim process with my card company (although I'm not sure if this is guaranteed to get me my money back) and order two more tickets from a genuine site, but I might end up paying twice over if they don't pay up. I'm really mad about it and can't believe I didn't spot the obvious signs (no contact address etc). I think I actually thought the site was linked to Paul McCartney in some way, so I guess I was simply being a bit gullible and trusting. I did see someone on another site say that they threatened them with Trading Standards and got a refund, but I don't know if that would work or not.

I presume they paid you to go
  • I had an email yesterday from HotUkDeals saying that Lastminute.com had tickets for Hamden and Cardiff at £25 each.

When I heard that our tickets were affected too (about half an hour ago), I booked new tickets from them. Hurry though...
  • Thanks for that Smaddern, at £25 each I think I'll buy tickets for Cardiff - I wanted the Hyde Park ones but by coincidence I'm in Cardiff on the day he's playing there so it looks too good to miss, and I really want to see him.

Yeah, I got the £25 tickets too :j quite chuffed now.
The seats left on ticketmaster were really crap and twice as much as lastminute.com.

I got to wait until after the concert to contact my cc company again, they said they have been swamped this afternoon with phone calls regarding this company.
At least I can still go and see the concert now :)
