Butternut squash seeds

Hi all

I had some b-nut squash seeds that I put in heated germinator and they failed. The only other seeds I had were ones that I scraped from a veg 2 years ago. I have sown them direct into ground (yesterday) but not sure if they will work or whether I should buy some more or if I've missed the boat this year and left it too late?

Any advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Most of the first lot I sowed failed, but I sowed more a few weeks ago, and they do grow quickly, so it may be worth a go.
  • Give it a try, I did mine a bit late... about a week ago and they germinated very quickly outside in a zipup greenhouse thingy. I have just potted them on today into bigger pots with more compost, with the idea of planting them on my compost heap. I had done that before and they seem to do very well as long as they have lots of space, which I don't have in my veggie bed.
