Hi Loupoppins,
Would first suggest looking at whether there are any charges on the ccs that you could claim back (I am in process of claiming mine and am hoping is going to take a big chunk out of the balances).
To be honest I found CCCS to be a bit ineffectual as well, was with them for a few years and while for the first few months it was lovely not to have to worry about payment then when the credit cards were asking for higher payments and threatening court action they basically did nothing to help
If remortgage is not an option (and I would check the legal implications of that with a charging order as I'm sure I read somewhere that they don't affect remortgages, only if you are actually selling the property) then I would consider looking more into the payment break option. Yes it might not seem like a long term solution but if think about the fact that you would have an extra £1000 a month to throw at the high interest credit cards for say 6 months then it could make a big difference to the interest you get stuck with in the future and the overall payments you will have to make.
Good luck with it!0 -

God, just going through the papers its all SUCH a mess. More fool me for leaving DH to sort it so far....
so, out of above debts Northern rock have a CCJ and Charging order (hence me putting it under secured loans)against us. We still pay them through the CCCS
Marlin have a CCJ but NO charging order. For reasons I'm not clear of we pay them seperately by standing order and not through CCCS
LLoyds is now persuing a CCJ in respect to the loan I think. Not clear why now when they have accepted our payments up till now???
thanks alot.Just another dumbass with money...
