Plant identification book advice
Please could anyone suggest a good book to help identifying plants in the garden?
Prefereably one that's suitable for beginners! I've looked in the garden centre and all the books seem to be encyclopedias and give you every detail about every plant. I need more help with working out what a plant is....... from there I can get details on what to do with each plant from the net, library or a plant encyclopedia!
We've just moved house and have a garden full of plants, but I have no idea what they are and so don't know when they need cutting back etc......
Any help or advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you

When I got my first garden, I bought the Hessayon "Expert" books one by one. They're not dear and are a wealth of information
Alternatively, can you post pics on here and we can help you ID your plants.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Lotus Eater - that links is really helpful, thank you!
Penelope Penguin - I've already got the house plant 'Expert' books (both for under a £5 on Amazon), so I'll have a look into the other ones too.... Thank you!
If I get stuck I'll post some pics on the forum, hopefully people will be kind and help me out!
