Did you get a CD with the new mobo? If not you will have to see what you can find on their website It's normally the VIA chipset drivers that you would need, so that the Windoze software can communicate with the new hardware.
HTH:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
If you move a working Hard Drive complete with OS to a 'new' PC, you must install an / the Operating System before you can do anything. The old H/D OS will look for all the bits that aren't there any longer ('cos you left them in the old machine) and simply fall over.
That's why you need the Drivers for all the bits in the new box.
Good Luck! (OR better still - find someone who has some clue about I.T.)0 -
it wont let me install a new os...because it always switches off before i can do anything0

Goto into bios and change the boot order, to CD first, Then put a windows windows Xp disc inand boot from CD from there you should be able install a fresh copy of windows,
p.s I have had these problems with a failing HD before might be worth downloading diagnostics from manufactures web site0 -
it wont even stay on long enough for me to change the boot order grrrrrrrrrrr0

Checked jumpers on the MOBO?
There should be a section in the mobo docs detailing the jumper settings for FSB speeds. Might slow it down long enough for you to get into the bios menus.0 -
