ADT Alarm - need to re-program to allow rear entry as well as front entry

Hello,
Recently moved into a new house, and the previous owners had an ADT alarm system which was also on a monitoring contract with ADT.
We didnt wish to continue to contract with ADT, so for us it is just a simple alarm.
However, it is set up so that when you set and unset the alarm, you must enter and exit through the front door. If you try to go through the back, the alarm goes off as soon as you step into the kitchen. We want to be able to leave the house from the rear as we cycle to work.
I dont want to have to pay for ADT to come round, is this something that I would be able to do myself by somehow reprogramming the system? Is it reasonably straightforward? Has anyone else got any experience of this?
Cheers,
Joe

Don't pay off your student loan quicker than you have to.

If you own the equipment then it is illegal for ADT to withhold the engineer number from you. You need to point this out to them and then contact your solicitor or CAB if needed.0

PM me the make/model of your control panel and I'll get the engineer codes for you so that you can reprogram yourself.Remember kids, it's the volts that jolt and the mills that kill.0
