How to open .EDL files

Does anybody know how to open/play .EDL files in windows please? I've searched the web for advise but I'm a bit boggled

I'm assuming you mean Adobe Edit Decision Lists? If you do, then unless you have the media original files then it's not going to be very useful. Has someone sent you the wrong file? i.e. they meant to generate a video file but sent you this instead?

Thanks everyone. I thought they were sending me video files, but it was just text so converted it into word. Thanks for your help and taking the time to reply.

Do you have Adobe Premiere? This page suggests that the file will be opened by it, but isn't necessarily the primary file that the application will be working with.
