I seem to have got RSS (tennis elbow, whatever) and I am sure its from using the mouse on my computer. My boss has a bad wrist also from mouse use.
Can anyone suggest a more friendly make of mouse that does not strain the arm/wrist as much. Is a cordless one better as there is less stretching?

If you mean RSI (Repetitive Strain Injury) then this can be common amongst heavy PC users.
I used to get pain in my wrist from using a mouse and keyboard, but for about 5 years I've used a gel padded mouse mat and gel keyboard rest which seem to help greatly.0 -

Many people use trackballs when they get pains..

Personally I think these things are likely to cause more problems than you had in the first place, but I have luckily never suffered from the problem.
If you are getting elbow pains, it may be more to do with your chair/seating position.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0 -
Alot of problems are due to bad posture rather than a bad mouse or keyboard.
your desk should be in a position where your elbow is bent at a right angle and you had rests on either the mouse or the front edge of the keyboard, no streching or tilting your arms ect. screen directly infront of you so no twisting and the top of the screen should be at eye level so your in a natural position to view it.
wrist rests for mice and keyboards help your chair at the correct hight also makes a diference and it is the responsibility of the company to sort these out. every pc install I do I ensure that the keyboard and mouse can be in the correct location so I cant get any comeback against myself from the company after the employee makes a claim agains the company. if they choose to not use it wher eI put it then its not my problem. I go in some places and the user is right handed and the mouse sits on the left had side of the keyboard and they reach over, its crazy, I use a PC for hours each day and dont have any problems.0 -

There are some guidelines on the HSE website somewhere dealing with posture, equipment etc. I don't have PDF access so can't locate it0
