Claiming IBJSA - questions

As of tomorrow, I am no longer classed a student and therefore, am entitled to claim JSA. I have some questions about doing so:
- I have around £7k saved up. On Saturday, I bought myself a new TV - what exactly are the rules for deprivation? Due to disability, it was quite a big TV. When deciding when someone has deprived themself of capital to claim income based benefits, is disability taken into account?
- I am owed money and apparently, owe someone else money. I have no idea when I'm going to see this money. As of today, I don't have it. If I make my claim on Monday, do they still count this money; even though I don't currently have it?

Heh-heh...with many a large TV usually ends up with them having a disability as they lug it into the house.
I doubt a new TV would be viewed as deprivation of capital.0 -
Deprivation of capital is about disposing of large amounts of money in order to become entitled to benefit or entitled to a higher level of benefit.
A one off purchase like this, while extravagent, doesnt strike me as deprivation. Even if they do decide it was deprivation you would lose about £2 a week at worst.0
