Really, really confused!

Hey everyone,

Really really confused now. And to say the least upset, after the adviser i've just spoken to on the phone at the benefit delivery centre.

I phoned up confused as to why 1st-7th June i've only had £15.38 paid to me. They said am due £51.85 tomorrow which is my payment for 8th-14th June. She was like "It's all right and up to date, your payments have been going in weekly while you were on your new deal option, but they'll go back to fortnightly now" I told they hadn't. She was dead rude and was like "Yes they have!" Checked my bank when i got home, and sure enough they've been fortnightly as usual.

Now am i right in thinking JSA is for the previous two weeks? If so, my payments have been:

20th May: £134.46 (4th-17th May).

3rd Jun: £134.46 (18th-31st May).

17th Jun: £15.38 (1st-7th Jun)

18th Jun: £51.85 (8th-14th Jun)

So she said it's all up to date. So also i get for 1st-7th Jun is my training allowance and nothing else!? See why am confused!

7th June was the last day on my option - so i don't understand the payments now at all! Am not phoning them back in case i get her again. I left the phone in tears basically. Before that i asked her who is responsible for New Deal payments and she said "New Deal Advisers"

Problem - my new deal adviser is off til Monday!

I have got it right that payments are for the previous two weeks haven't i?

JSA is paid fortnightly in arrears.
    *SIGH*
    :D
  • So the above payments i've listed would be the correct dates then? It's the 1st-7th that's confusing me! Surely £15.38 for that week isn't right.
  • Got it sorted out in the end. :D

After getting through to the woman at the BDC with the bad attitude, i phoned the New Deal department at the job centre instead and told them that the woman said to speak to my adviser.

My adviser is off until Monday, so i got put through to one of the New Deal supervisors instead. She booked me an appointment to see my advisor on Tuesday, then out of interest asked me what my national insurance number was. Told her and she said she could see what the problem was. For some reason the whole amount i'm due has gone through, but as 3 separate payments. £15.38 today. Then there's also another two £51.85 's due to go in my account (unlike the BDC woman who was like "nooo there's only one £51.85 due!")

The supervisor was well nice. Confirmed to me what's happening now that i've finished my option - aparently this coalition government are changing everything so FND isn't happening anymore. She said they're all up in limbo at the moment, so until everything's sorted i just continue seeing my New Deal advisor. She kept the appointment on Tuesday afternoon for me as she said i go onto follow-through or something. ;)
  • Just to let everyone know - as the supervisor said, i did get two payments of £51.85 paid in to my account on the Friday. She said for some reason, my money went in as three different payments (dunno why, never happened before). But yeah, it all got sorted out! :D

Payments do go a bit weird at the end of New Deal, from memory, something to do with the Training Premium I think. Its only paid for full benefit weeks and not part weeks (Something like that).

Good to hear its sorted anyway.

Good news:D There's nothing worse than that sick feeling of having money you are expecting not being there:eek:

Glad you got it sorted :)
