so what happened to all the money the business generated?I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care

guess what i have to.I already work full time, i'm quite happy to work full time for a part time wage at present.
Some of the suggestions in this thread are redicious, basically i'm expected to live on value brand food, wash once a week, never go to town and stay stuck in a small village with nothing to do.
Life is for living not just existing, shame on these people that never take their kids out in order to save pennies, what kind of life is that for them? i'm also expected to buy clothes from charity shops and buy food nearing the sell by date and freeze it.
I'm all for saving some pennies but seriously, the way some people seem to live is very sad. You may be debt free quicker but it can't be nice when your kids get asked what they did at the weekend and they say sat in a tent in the garden when everyone else went out and did something.
There are actually some good suggestions, so thanks to everyone for those.
i live in a small village, lucky its nice and right by the sea. i have anxiety and depression too.
i dont think people should have nothing mind you,as i have sky tv. i dont have any freinds so rely on my tv.
sorry bit cross on the food front though. theres nothing wrong with value/ own brand stuff. i have a gastric bypass so have to watch what i eat but ive adapted so can you.bsc 347:j0 -

Used it for a house purchase, to live on for past 4 years and also some to fund new business. Probably wasted a lot on things i didn't need, have a 4k telescope which i have recently sold since i don't use it, lost quite a lot on that.
I was young and had crazy amounts of money each month, i was clearly not going to budget. The most sensable thing i did was buy a house.0 -

I do like some of the own brand stuff but prefer to spend more on chicken and meats since i have tried some of the cheaper stuff and didn't like it.0 -

Cyclone, your first business was piggy backing on the success of Online Gambling in the US, which was a loop hole and was bound to be closed due to the stringent gambing regluations in the US.
How much money are you expecting your current business of reselling perfume via an ebay shop will make you?
I am very concerned you are not being at all realistic. It sounds like you were in the right place at the right time, like people who made lots of money out of the dot com bubble, before it burst. EG ITV bought Friends Reunited for £125 million in 2005 and sold it for £25 million in 2009, some times people cannot see past the hype.
Being in the right place at the right time once, does not mean you have the Midas touch.

John.
I also have a website and sell on Amazon, not just eBay. I have done a lot of SEO work on the website and am waiting for search engine positions to improve. It is a very competitive field so can be a slow process.
I agree with the previous business but i do have a lot of seo knowledge and managed to get top positions for a number of large gambling keywords which contributed greatly to the success of that business.0 -
Reading this thread with interest, sounds like cyclone is in a v similar position to that which my ex found himself in last year. All spent out, and not being able to afford to pay everything with ease, but not quite at the point where he would sit down and actually make the changes he needed to..
fast forward 6 more months and he's in even more debt and is only jujst starting to take some of the advice on board.
you'll realise you need to do something cyclone, it will just make time to weigh up the pros and cons of making those life changes, but if you try to see it as a positive step, not a failure, that may help.
no advice to offer, as i agree with most of what's been suggested. but good luck!0 -
I already work full time, i'm quite happy to work full time for a part time wage at present.
I'd be happy doing that as well, rather than working fulltime in a job I really dont enjoy or care for, but I put up with it, grit my teeth and work everyday for the good of my family and to keep us solvent. To be honest, I'd shovel !!!!!! 40 hours a week if it meant the difference beteween me and my son living neck deep in debt, and living a comfortable existance
Some of the suggestions in this thread are redicious, basically i'm expected to live on value brand food, wash once a week, never go to town and stay stuck in a small village with nothing to do.
Think you mean ridiculous. Get over your ego, and the 'i used to earn 30k a month' excuse, and look att he fact that you are in debt, and people are taking the time out of their own lives and problems to try and suggest ways of helping. Look at the general idea not just taking specifics to the extreme
Life is for living not just existing, shame on these people that never take their kids out in order to save pennies, what kind of life is that for them? i'm also expected to buy clothes from charity shops and buy food nearing the sell by date and freeze it.
My child goes out every single weekend to a 'treat' place, and most days to the park or whatever. However, I'll gladly accept second hand clothes for him, by 'whoops' offers from Asda or wherever, or basically economise where I can, to fund these. HOWEVER, dont you dare criticise those people that have no choice and cant afford to live the way that you appear to be doing. They're getting out of their financial problems, can the same be said for you???
I'm all for saving some pennies but seriously, the way some people seem to live is very sad. You may be debt free quicker but it can't be nice when your kids get asked what they did at the weekend and they say sat in a tent in the garden when everyone else went out and did something.
You're not for saving any pennies. Get over yourself and if you dont want help from people, dont waste their time. Let them concentrate on people that do actually want it and will listen
There are actually some good suggestions, so thanks to everyone for those.
Yes there are, some great suggestions, but you dont seem to be able to take to any apart from reducing your luxury sky bill for 6 months...
Sorry this sounds harsh, but you are ridiculing and scoffing at all these ideas, when there are people that have no choice but to live by these suggestions. Good for you, you're not in that situation yet. The way you're heading, it wont be long. Maybes humble pie will be on special offer the next time you do your mammoth shopping. I hope so0
