Hello
Does anybody know anywhere I can park for free in this area? I will be travelling there 3-4 days per week soon, but it all seems to be permit holders or parking meters!

Only when the last tree has died

There's a lot of little car parks that let you park all day for a fiver. No where in the area is for free being just outside the congestion zone. If you are visiting someone local, ask them if they have any tower hamlets scratch cards for parking - much cheaper than the meter.

It's for university lectures (Queen Mary).
I don't know anyone nearby.
I had to go there earlier today (I drive in from Essex) and I parked in the Lidl. But you are only supposed to park there for 1 hour and it is a £150 penalty  if you are longer or not actually a Lidl shopper. My lectures are always 2 hours plus it's a good 20 minute walk each way, so I'm taking a bit of a risk each time I park there.Only when the last tree has died

Hiya!
I just graduated from QM this year, you're really going to enjoy it there. I Had three great years. With regards to parking in the area, can you get the central line into Mile End station? The reason I ask is because Mile End is a *cough* rough *cough* area where I wouldn't personally feel comfortable leaving my car. Plus, there are very few places where you can park without being caught by wardens. It was always quite amusing in the morning and afternoons seeing the arguments between drivers and wardens in the where the driver had obviously popped in a shop for a few minutes thinking they wouln't be caught.
It would just be easier taking tube if you could, that's how I met most of friends by walking with them after lectures to the station. Okay, I'm gonna stop before I go all nostalgic :rotfl:
Good luck!0
