I am no expert on this and hopefully someone will post who is but I was buying cheap blank discs from Tesco at one point and I had so much trouble with them. After flashing the dvd drive on my pc and updating to better discs its very rarely now that I have a dud one so maybe its down to the discs you are using. Are they a good make or a cheaper version you are using?0
