A few days my compost (in a black dalek) was fine, smelling of ammonia and steaming when i lifted a bit out. Today i open the lid and its soggy wet and smelly. I'm wondering as its been so hot if its the condensation inside the lid running down on the compost making it too wet? any ideas? Am I going to have to tip it all out and mix in some shredded newspaper? urgghh smelly job :-) Thanks for any help

Dry stuff needed, so shredded bills, newspaper, bits of cardboard, small twigs to make air gaps etc, mix in well.
Its best to do 6" layers of green then brown stuff, bit like making a sandwich.

It will be fine and you should have great compost soon :)
