Housing Benefit and Agency Work

Hi, I have been receiving housing benefit as I have not been able to take any funds from my company, I now have no option but to close the company down. I can take up work on an agency but how do I advise my local authority as I will be unsure of the hours available for me to work.
I am not sure if I am entitled to any other benefits either. Any advice please.

i have did the agency thing and really over the housing benift etc it was a mess and really not worth it, i had to take in every payslip in then they would decide how much i owed and then send me a letter everytime i owed them money and in the end i was worse of working ,

nothing was set in stone and it really messed me up money wise more than i already was , i would only take it if it was a contract over 8 weeks then it still gives you time to sort out something more permeant x

iam not sure over this but if your company wasnt making money you might be able to get jsa or at least ask about it at the dwp or look on the direct gov site, i would rather have stayed on jsa at the time not because i didnt want to work i loved it was doing promotions work for diesal and on good money but the hassle was a nightmare plus i had to keep signing on and of when the work wasnt there x

It all sounds like a nightmare, I think I will get the closing down of the company sorted out then try and battle with the powers to be, then hopefully I will get a good nights sleep!!! Thanks again x

Hello,im on jsa and ive signed upto a few agencys,im not sure how its going to work as im on housing benefit,i had a phonecall saying im on the availables forr the agencys but,if i do more than 16hours of work my housing benefit and jsa is stopped,and i was told it could take up2 five weeks for my hosuing benefit claim to restart,i dont have any family around here so i would literaly be fkd,surley they must set up an easier alternative,i mean cant they just stop my jsa and keep the housing benefit running and say if i get some work i can show them reciepts ect.stress!!!
