it is very important to have a open NAT , if you want proper online gaming.

i'll take a wild guess here , but i bet your son is going to be playing Modern Warfare 2 . you need a open NAT for this game online .

you will need a Hard drive i'm afraid . Map Packs and updates take a lot of memory . And the Map packs for MW2 cost around £12 each ( currently 2 since game launch) . but hey at least you don't have to shell out £50 + for the game now.

and choose your XBOX live Gamertag with care . it costs £8 to change it !!

then all you need is 2 sets of good rechargeable AA batteries for the controller . ( 2 sets per controller is advisable )

It is when it works properly...I get really bored of knifing people or shooting them and then it doesn't work...

given that the battery packs for the 360 controller are so cheap I would getone of thise, they come with a chargin lead that allows you to continue playing too.

Play and charge kit.

And there are plenty of other good games to play online than MW2!

I'm sure your son will have loads of fun, it's much better playing online as offline you get to know when the AI are going to come round the corner, when online you will be waiting for someone to come round the corner and WHAM! you get shot from behind
