DHL never left card : no possible redelivery?

I have a packet coming with DHL. They tried to deliver it yesterday, and again today. But the drivers never left a card. I know they came because I asked the seller to provide me with the tracking number.
I have been on their website, but on the page where you can ask for a redelivery, they are asking you to provide the 4 digits that supposed to have been written on the card left, but as I never got any cards I am unable to provide it. It implied as well that I had to fill the same form if I wanted to collect from their depot.
Because I don't have the card, does that mean I cannot have a redelivery, or that I cannot collect the packet from their local depot?
Their website is not the easiest to perouse to find the information you want, it took me a while to find the right tracking engine for my tracking number.

    You could always phone them tomorrow and ask

    May be better to get the sender to have a go at them. City Link did this to me with something I sent, though they had left a card. Give them their due, they delivered a third time. If you can prove your name and address, they will give you the parcel, they don't want to have to go to the bother of returning to sender.
