Ban on helicopter arrival at primary school prom

A parent has been banned from sending an 11-year-old child to their end-of-year primary school prom in a helicopter.
East Renfrewshire Council confirmed it had received an inquiry about landing a helicopter in the grounds of Mearns Primary in Newton Mearns.
But it rejected the request on health and safety grounds.
The local authority said the idea was dismissed because it had no educational benefits.
It is understood the parent wanted their child to make a big entrance at the end-of-term party.

I remember a girl at our prom who arrived in a helicopter they didnt even ask for permission just turned up. Talk about a big entrance lol.0

My friend was telling me that his local private school is so posh that not only do they have a normal car school run but quite a few of the kids get dropped off by helicopter, the school even has a helipad.

Can we let the kids have 10 minutes before we start projecting these footballer's wife/pointless celeb "ambitions" onto them?
They're 11 for God's sake! They should be eating jelly and dancing to Superman by Black Lace in a school hall!
What are they getting a prom FOR? I thought they were a reward for AMERICAN kids to celebrate their exam success, prior to university?
