Excel, a question on subtraction formula

If you want to subtract a row of numbers for example. Say you have £200 and are paying it off in bits.
£200 total is in cell C8 (money below is what I want taken off the total each time I make a payment and to know whats left) so it will show £190 then when I take off the next 5 will show 185 and when I take off next will show total paid up to date and take it off the £200.
you paid £10 in cell C10
you paid £5 in cell C11
you paid £8 in cell C12
and so on, well you get the gist of what I mean,
instead of me keep putting C8-C10 and then putting C8 - C11 and then C8 - C12 etc which is longer.
Is there a quick formula that I can write instead?,
because when you add up you have the =sum(c10:c12) etc and it does it all, but I dont know what the formula is for minus a total figure when you are taking bits off weekly?
If anyone knows please give me the formula?
Thanks

You could try =c8-sum(c10:c12).
If you want to list weekly dates against your amounts put the start date in say B8 and in B9 but =B8+7, then drag B9 down the column. It automatically calculate dates one week apart. If the dates look like strange numbers select column B and format it as date.0 -
