Are there competitors for Calor Gas?
Options
My mum pays a huge bill of £120 per month for Calor Gas at her house (she lives in fairly remote countryside where there is no mains gas available so she has a Calor Gas tank in the garden), are there any competitors who can provide the same product at a reduced rate or can you suggest any other ways in which she could reduce the amount she pays? It is a 4 bedroom house with 3 of them living there but I'm sure she is paying a very high amount for what they use.
Any help would be much appreciated!

It is filled by Calor0

if the tank is hired from calor, you have to have it filled by calour. if you own the tank you can get anyone to fill it.0

Nobody tends to own a LPG tank.
THey cost around £1200 and the payback for the company is around 5 years.0 -
If the existing tank does belong to Calor she might be able to get them to take their tank away and get another company to fit one. Countrywide stores do gas, also Flogas. I'm sure there are a few more out there too, the Yellow Pages should help.0

I used to work in the industry and it is dominated by two suppliers - Calor and Flogas. The Competition Commission has just concluded its investigation into the market and decided it needed shaking up (see their website https://www.competition- commission.org.uk/inquiries/current/gas/third_party_submissions_lpg_customers.pdf)
If you let me know where you live I can let you know which smaller, and probably cheaper, companies can supply you.
We use these guys: https://www.innergylpg.co.uk
They saved us 7.5p per litre - about £450.00 a year !!!0
