turn the wireless router on , then turn the laptop on and it should show "wireless networks detected" , click on that bubble to list all the available networks and one should be the name of tyour router (normally on a sticket on the back/button of the wirless router)
click on your one and it should ask for the network key ..( also on the router)
is the laptop running XP /Vista / Windows 7 ??Ex forum ambassador

To add to what browntoa has said the login details for the router will be on the bottom of the router, the wireless security passkey(this is what you need to change once logged into the router ) is also there as well0
