How easy is it to record from ntl cable on to this? As it will be a pressie for my Folks who are not techie at all

You cannot use this to record from any source other than the built in Freeview digital tuner.
If you want to record from NTL cable you would need a DVD recorder.0 -

A normal hard disk recorder should do it. You can get them with DVD recorders and/or Video built-in.Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Yes any DVD recorder with or without a hard drive will record from NTL cable. You will need to set a timer just like a VCR.0 -
ntl will be releasing their version of the telewest PVR at some point. I belive that it'll be before xmas but don't hold your breath (there's a lot of work to be done yet).
Might be worth waiting for that if you folks are not in a hurry- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -

This is an excellent machine to get for normal freeview (twin tuner) channels.
Highly recommended but not for cable as said above.0
