motor insurance ombudsman

i wonder if there is any one out there that can help me track down the motor insurance ombudsman i have just had the shock of my life after a hit and run accident on my car, my insurance premium has gone from £297. to £1389. all for some little idiot who failed to stop after hitting my car, i have tried speaking to the MIB with no luck prehaps i am going about it the wrong way? any help would be much appreciated

    The site you want is www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk but I doubt they will be interested as the premiums set are a commercial decision for the insurance companies.

    Yours has gone up due to a combination of having made a claim they couldn’t recover from elsewhere and (probably) a reduction in NCB.

    Only advice I can give is to use the car insurance price comparison sites listed on the main site to see if you can find cheaper elsewhere

    They wont be interested, It free market when it comes to pricing. Do a bit of shopping around I cant see other insurance companies charging you that much.

    You are not tied into the contract so nothing is legally wrong here.

    Just take your business else where. ;)

    I agree not happy with the quote, Take your business elsewhere.

    They cant force you to buy from them, I presume you have lost all your no claims
    or a good sized chunk of it.

    Its gone up a fair bit this year for almost everyone.
