Hi
Had my laptop fixed and now cannot connect to the net by wireless as my broadband is shown as local access, tried a ethernet wire connection but just will not link either.
Have another PC which can wireless connect just fine.
Vista system and have tried to connect using it's tools without success - Thanks

Are you running McAfee? If so delete this, find a free alternative (plenty reccommended here) and you should be OK.
See pchell.com/virus/uninstallmcafee.shtml for how to uninstall it0 -
tried that, but still having the same local access issue - any further suggestions? Thanks0

What is the IP address of the system you can't connect with?
If it's in the 169.254.x.x range then it has not picked up an IP address from the router's DHCP server.
It's odd that neither wireless or wired connections work, but the IP address check is your first step in troubleshooting this.0 -
Check what available networks you have listed. A friend of mine had a PC repaired and they left another network set up on the PC and the PC was trying to connect to that one instead. Once removed all was OK.0
