how do i get my laptop to go faster it keeps slowing down or freezing all the time pls help:mad:

There are a few simple things you can do to help speed up your computer without getting too 'techie'. Firstly, delete all your temporary internet files (through internet explorer or whichever browser you use - note that you may lose saved passwords, etc. to websites) and check whether you are using a lot of your hard disk space. Other things you can do include defragmenting your hard disks.

What operating system are you using and how old is the computer? Also, do you have a lot of programmes open at once and a lot of icons in your system tray (generally bottom right of your screen) that open up when you start the computer up?

Could be any number of reasons, but the most common are things like antivirus scanning your system, virus / malware activity, or just a bogged down system.

Go into add / remove programs in the control panel (i'm assuming your a windows user), and uninstall anything that you no longer need - things like games and stuff you might have downloaded yonks ago and forgotten about.

After that, reboot and update your antivirus and perform a full scan - it might take some time to complete!!.

It should speed things up a bit. What are you normally doing when it goes slow?

slow and freezing is probably a virus,malware or spyware problem. update your antivirus and install malbytes antimalware and spybot search and destroy (check forum for free software).reboot into safe mode and do a full scan with these programs.reboot and use an online scanner to scan your pc (panda online scanner etc).
