Mar, go to your pm's, there's a drop down box 'sent', you may have it there still.
What ever you got sent, hope it likes snow;)0 -

It was on another forum and the plants are Stevia. Tropical from S America...so I dont rate their survival much LOL! But the leaves taste gorgeously sugary! 0 -
Look it up in Wikipedia - it is quite interesting. I did when Dobies(?) offered it without giving the botanical name.

I've been after it for ages - since the OH was diabetic. I bought some of the powder and it was £10 for a wee bag, so I thought I would try growing it.
Will see how we get on, but I think it needs a lot of sun. And this is Scotland. LOL! 0 -
I have just done some googling too, and there does seem to be a lot of references to it being banned in the UK, but it's not clear whether owning a plant for personal use is okay.
Sound like a great plant to have though.0 -
I read a lot about it being banned in America, and that lasted 4 years and was proved to be because of lobbying from big companies who make sweeteners, so it was allowed. Seemingly Japan uses tons of the stuff as aspartame is banned there. They have used it for 30 odd years and no signs of any problems with it. I think big companies have far too much say in what we are told about food & drugs. I have a terrible sweet tooth and think if a craving comes on me I will nibble a leaf instead. LOL! It doesnt rot teeth either.

I say go for it - it does seem to have more good properties than bad.
Just don't be tempted to cultivate plants to sell at the local school fate! At least not until this 'unexplained' ban is sorted out.0 -
Officer its for personal use only, honest! :rotfl:0
