in Credit cards
I am just going through today's mail and feel sick. I spent last Tuesday calling credit card companies about balance transfers for existing customers and then called back and did some BTs.
When I called Nat West I was offered 3.9% for 6 months - not wonderful but better than I am paying on some of my cards so I transferred as much as I could (95% of limit). I have just opened this month's statement and it shows the normal BT rate of 1.456% per month.
I've tried the call centre but they are closed until tomorrow morning (only give you this information after going right through the menu, security checks etc  ). But will they honour the agreement as I haven't got anything in writing?
Any help would be much appreciated to help me get a good night's sleep - thanks.

Stand up for yourself. These things are usually recorded so insist that they check what was discussed. As you say, what was offered to you is a perfectly reasonable offer (nothing exceptional) and one you were persuaded by, so I would hope they will honour it.0

Thank you for the reply.
I called them as soon as they were open this morning - spoke to a very polite customer services guy who looked at the record and said he would need to speak to his manager who would call me back.
Twenty mins later the original guy called to say that there had obviously been an error made when the BT was done and it was being altered today and I would get a refund of the additional interest charged - all this will show on next month's statement.
Phew - no arguments and it should be sorted.0 -
Banks etc. I find are usually very polite etc. if your fair and honest with them - being polite works wonders as well!Save a life. Learn emergency first aid.
Who knows what might happen tomorrow or who may need help.
Contact your local college or first aid provider to enquire about free courses in your area.
Already a first aider? Have you updated your first aid to the new 2005 guidelines? Most providers should now be training the new (and more effective) CPR protocols, see if they are offering refresher courses near you.0
