I have a iTouch but no Wifi connection at home as I don't have a telephone line. Is there any way of getting wifi without a phone line? Or do I need to ask someone in my block if I can use theirs and if so what are the security risks?

Initially what you're looking for is an internet connection, the WiFi part is slightly different. If you live in a Virgin Media cabled area you can get broadband through them which doesn't come through a phone line. If I remember rightly the Virgin modems don't have built in WiFi so you may also need a router to give you WiFi accessibility. You could then use your iTouch to connect via WiFi which in turn connects you to the internet through your Virgin modem.
Another option is to have a PC or laptop with a USB broadband dongle then setup your PC as a wireless access point and share out your USB internet connection using Internet Connection Sharing or similar. Obviously we can give more help with whichever one (if any) you want to try.0 -
I look into the Virgin Option0

Go to Settings, Wifi - choose a network, and see if BT Openzone is available from your flat, if so you can subscribe without a phone line. Also look for t-mobile etc, if you can join the network without entering a password then you can usually buy vouchers or subscribe monthly to that network.
Try in different spots in your flat or at a window otherwise you could ask your neighbours.
If using someone else's connection I'd make sure that all sensitive info was passed through secure sites and Gmail for example, is now encrypted by default.0 -
Thanks for your help, I'll try these options.

how about the '3' MiFiDrop a brand challenge
on a £100 shop you might on average get 70 items save
10p per product = £7 a week ~ £28 a month
20p per product = £14 a week ~ £56 a month
30p per product = £21 a week ~ £84 a month (or in other words one weeks shoping at the new price)0
