Thomas Cook - Kids Go Free - A CON!!

Hi

I am searching for holidays, I went on Thomas Cook, found a holiday at £213pp and free child place, so clicked on it and all of a sudden it says "we have changed the price" and it becomes £958 + 29 for infant (fair enough) + Free baby place. I cannot find that price no matter what date i do, as soon as you ad a free baby, it adds a massive amount onto the adult price..... Incredible how they get away with this!!!

They probably get away with it because it says "Free Child Places", they probably only count the accommodation as the free part and you still have to pay for the flights.

I agree it is a con though.

    T&C'S

"Free child places are available on selected summer 2010 accommodation, departure dates, room types and board bases. Children must share accommodation with two adults paying the full adult price."

Maybe they add some sort of discount when it is just the adults, but when you add kids it puts the adults back up to the full price?

Yep, certainly misleading - I've been having a look at Thomas Cook packages to Tunisia. One of the deals advertises a free kids place (we only have one child) but in the details for the free kids deal, they add on an adult supplement, and don't give much of an online discount. If I choose a hotel that doesn't have the free kids place, the online discount is much larger, making the price, erm the same with or without a free child ;).

    I've been Money Tipped!
Hi, I've just booked a holiday with first choice/thomsons it was cheaper for 4 adults than 2 adults and 2 children with occupancies, so my kids going as adults. Its worthwhile checking before booking its saved me nearly £200 a big difference.
  • There are only a limited number of free places and the web still advertises that kids go free but when you go to book it will add the full price if all the free kids places have been taken.

Me, my husband and 4 year old son are going to Egypt on Monday and we did get a fee child place with no additional supplements with Thomas Cook, however we did book in June last year as soon as the brochures were released.
