Help...please... My computer crashed a few weeks ago and I lost my ipod library. Does anyone know how to get all the music from my ipod back into a library?

I recently contacted Apple about a similar problem. All my music was on an old computer and I was switching to a new. The lady at Apple said there was no way I could use the ipod as a master and transfer from ipod to computer. I wish it wasn't like that.0

Do a search in google for "itunes alternative" most of the ones it kicks up allow this or search for "ipod transfer", the one I use will do this and will post it's name when I get home and check unless someone else posts it before. As an added bonus the best ones are freeware.Approach her; adore her. Behold her; worship her. Caress her; indulge her. Kiss her; pleasure her. Kneel to her; lavish her. You would think that Apple might go to the trouble of training their staff rather than let them spout rubbish.
Some of the many ways are listed here http://www.metaphoriclabs.com/articles/5-ways-to-copy-music-off-your-ipod-windows-mac-os-x/0 -

Try googling sharepod.
So since Apple do not provide it "it doesn't exist" - sounds about right;)0 -
Same thing happened to me very recently, I lost all my music on my old computer as it crashed, purchased a new one and when my son plugged in the ipod he updated the library which meant i then lost all music on the ipod so was left with nothing.. I emailed itunes and they were so helpful, they have given me access to re download once more everything i have purchased from the itunes store (852 songs), so i am well happy, i know they dont do it as standard but they are aware that things can happen and they were very helpful to me (obviously wont work with cds you uplaoded onto itunes - its just for purchases)0

As someone suggested above, I use Sharepod and it's fantastic. It'll copy all the files off your iPod and even add them back into your iTunes library for you again.0

Is this shareware stuff safe? I've only had my first mac for a month and don't want to corrupt anything!0
