Hi-I'm on income support (dual claim with G/F), get carers allowence, get h/benefit & c/tax benefit too. From Late September (assuming partners illness is ok!)...she's back at work & we'll receive working tax credits & I'll still get carers.
If i was to start up something self-employed (am thinking of working from home as a travel agent) I'd be paid monthly on a commision only basis-but would have to find ALL my own customers. Therefore monthly commisions would probably be non-existant to start with & from then on very variable....how would this all fit in with benefits?
How would they work out which/how much benefits to pay when I'd have NO IDEA of what was going to be earnt?
A bit confused but would love to get the business rolling (by going out to businesses/factories, etc) but having been in this line of work before I know it takes time...so if there was any way I could 'build' it with the odd bit of commision occaisionally for the 1st 6 months or so & still be in the benefits system that would be great! Any help appreciated!

You would claim Tax Credits and may still be able to qualify for HB and CTB based on your income. You would be required to submit your books every few months for them to re-assess the next few months level of payments.0
