Shower Pump Hose leak

I have a slow leak on one of the hoses from my shower pump. All joints and hoses are plastic. The leak is coming from the nut to tread connection (as apposed to the hose swivel joint). Striped the hose down and found the mating face of the hoses had score marks on it. I have looked to get replacement pipe but have to buy a set of four. Is there anying I can use on the mating face to prevent the leak?

Try ptfe tape0

Hi Dave,
I did have PTFE tape around the joint and it still leaked. I can try again.
I would like to try something on the flat mating face of the hose that would mate with the flat on the end of the threaded inlet of the pump. Not sure if a smear of silicon sealer would work.0 -

From your description it sounds like a new washer of sorts is needed.
Forget PTFE & Sealer , unless you want to wrap PTFE around the thread after you have added a washer.
A pic or 2 would help....Not Again0 -
There is a washer that is a mesh filter. Maybe adding a flat rubber washer in front of the mesh seal. I will try this and get some photos at the same time. Maybe be a day or two before I get to it. Leak is small about 100ml per day and contained by having a bowl underneath0

you can buy those mesh washers.
That is more than likely the problem unless its an ongoing problem.
If its ongoing you could have the wrong fitting on the end of the pipe or a damage fitting end/thread.Not Again0 -
