i never buy anything frozen from my local tescos as it is nearly always half defrosted when you pick it up out of the freezer,
i always dig down to the bottom of the freezer and check its frozen solid before i buy.
saying that i did buy some hagen daaz from morrisons and it must have been defrosted because it was all grainy, i emailed hagen daaz and got 4 £4 vouchers through the post

Large stores will have their fridge and freezer temperatures logged by computer and they will also have an automatic alarm system for them.

Most pain the !!! system in world when your running 20yr old fridges and a 5 year control systems.

There monitoring system which they will have keeps a record of the temps hourly then at the start of every day that printed off and stored.

If you find unfrozen stock its either a delivery they took too long to get out or some one took it out and wondered around the store. then it got returned to the freezer.
  • yeah I would be wondering about it too............

Lots of people probably do the same, so each time something goes from the bottom, the items at the top move down. Will have frozen again, not good at all.
Years ago when somerfield was still gateway, I went to buy something frozen & everything in the freezer was soft, when I reported it even the manager said that they would turn the freezers down. He seriously couldn't see that he couldn't refreeze defrosted food.
At the time I had a cafe next door to it & had used it for lots of things as my local cash & carry was 20 odd miles away. If anyone had got food poisoning I would have been held responsible, so they lost my custom.
