Hello - I've had my laptop for a year and it's started making very loud noises (is it the fan?!) It also gets very hot underneath. I turn it off every night. Is there anything I can do to cool it down?!
Thanks very much for any help...

I would say the fan , not sure how easy these are to open but changing the fan in normally just a plug in swap
can try getting a can of air blaster from Maplins and blast the fan when its turned off in case its just clogged
is it not still within warranty ??Ex forum ambassador

I've an Advent 4211 which is the same as a wind U100, it occasionanally makes a rattling sound when the fan runs full speed, it's been ok for 2years though. When I last opened the case there was a lot of dust by the fan and the vent the other side of the case. Heres a guide to take appart a U100 (assuming you have that model) http://insanelywind.com/wiki/index.php/Take_Apart_Guide0
