Volcanic Ash- Do it yourself holidays- Travel Insurance?

Hi all, posting this in insurance and holidays section- i'm not sure which is the correct place?

We have booked flights already standsted- kuala lumpur with air asia and we will be booking further flights kl-bali return- and we will be booking hotels direct or through different websites

Air Asia is a point to point carrier so don't take responsibility for connecting flights- the ones i'm most concerned about are the two flights back- if the bali-kl one gets cancelled we might not make the kl-stansted return

sooooooo i'm looking for travel insurance which would cover this and also delays/cancellations caused be volcanic ash (obv since airasia fly in/out of europe i know they have certain obligations if we get stuck out there- i'm thinking more if we can't get out there and have to cancel our holiday with it not being a package?)

sorry this is a bit longwinded! I just want to make sure I get something which will cover this?

ok been scouting around and policies seem to only cover flights in and out of the uk...

and since air asia do not cover their 'connecting' flights i'm unsure as what to do about the possibility of missing the kl-bali & bali-kl flights..... aside from leaving ample time, what happens if flights are suspended for some reason?
