Workbench and metal shelving for shed

Guys, notice its been a while since posted, but incase any of you still giving it some thought.
There used to be a great woodwork show on the discovery channel, New Yankee Workshop. Norm made a couple of benches, including a workbench and a miter bench. I made the workbench (must be 5 years ago) and still my favourite project, as I use it for nearly everything else I do.
Did a search to see if still on Discovery and found that they have made the projects available online (although for a price)

As far as shelving, bought some for my sons birthday the other week from The Storage Bay, to help him tidy his garage. 4 Shelves and a workbench (WB not upto the sort of thing you're after), howver shelves went up in minutes and the garage has totally been transformed.

Anyway, thanks for bringing my attention back to The New Yankie Workshop, I'm going to have a look around for a new project to start when the rainy weather returns (sure it wont be long).0 -

andrew-b cheers for pointing out I may have over spent
Actually when I purchased, pretty sure those were £50 more expensive, as I did look on there (they're on sale at moment), and they have 3 bays instead of 4, so don't feel too bad.
Competition must be high in the shelving industry at the moment!
Anyway enjoy your workbench build, it'll be so much more rewarding then a knock on the door from a delivery man, good luck with it.0 -
I have a problem with drawers in a workshop/garage. It turns quickly into a dumping ground for those items that does not belong elsewhere.Open Shelves I tend to keep tidy. Racks are wonderful for the same reason. But drawers become 'black' holes.0

Oh yes. Norm Abram and Steve Thomas in 'This Old House'. One of my faves when I first got cable tv about 15+ years ago.
There was nothing Norm couldn't make:). He did have the most extensively equipped home shop you could imagine, though.0 -
Looks very good .. possibly too good, wait til its got a few paint stains/drill holes etc .
Wont post a picture of mine , feeling a touch inadequate.0 -
I would put some sort of sacrificial top on it.
Mine is piece of kitchen work top , expect it to last 2/3 years , by then I would have found another free piece.
My only thoughtI am righthanded , so my sockets are to the right , saves the cord getting in the way.
