New security?

My laptop came with 60 days free Norton Internet Security installed,i also purchased Norton Gold which was half price to use when the 60 days ended.Do i have to uninstall the free Norton and install the Gold or can i just enter the product key.Will it recognise that it's still Norton but a different product.

You should be able to install straight over the top, although this isn't always the case, and if you can't, it will tell you.

Norton products can be a bit ropey during (un)install. I would recommend (for peace of mind) downloading the norton removal tool and running that, and then installing Norton gold fresh. Then next year I'd buy Kaspersky;)

I was thinking of getting norton too this year but after uninstalling it and using avira, the computer is too fast for me to want to return to norton!

Kaspersky beats Norton with a very big stick. When did you use it and on what operating system? I come into contact with a lot of viruses and malware and my computer has not been infected since I started using Kaspersky about 5 years ago.
