My son has "HD ready" LG television with a freeview tuner built in. He has retuned it to try and get the new ITV, BBC and C4 HD channels but it won't pick them up.
Can anyone help here or does his television not support it and he will need to buy a new HD freeview tuner ??
Thanks.

The TV only has a normal Freeview tuner and is HD ready (for HD sources eg Blu Ray player). Te get BBC HD etc. you'd need an additional Freeview HD receiver (and live in a suitable area)......0

"HD ready" refers to the resolution of the screen, unfortunately not its tuner capabilities. If he really wants the HD channels then a set top box is the way forward.0
