Speaker Problem

Options
I've just deleted some files by mistake (they've been deleted from the recycle bin too!) and my speakers no longer work.

P.C. Status:

The power light is on.
The sound control is turned 'up'
I have 'green-green' connection at the back of the PC.
Power light is on the speakers

Anyone got any suggestions please?

might be worth re-installing the sound drivers, even if they appear to be fine and the computer says they are working, sometimes they still don't.

    Open control panel,

in classic view select Sounds and Audio devices,

click the audio tab, check which is listed as the default device (if you think this is the wrong device then that is probably your problem so select the correct one!)

click on the hardware tab then select the device that was the default and click properties

in the window that opens click the driver tab

click uninstall to uninstall the driver

close all those windows then right click on my computer and choose properties

click the hardware tab then open device manager

click action then scan for hardware changes, this should then reinstall your sound driver. If it cannot find the driver sutomatically then you might have to download a new one from the internet.

    Hope that's helpful!
