DLA Decision over the phone ?

Just a quick question please..

I have read many posts where people have spoken to the DLA on the phone for a claim update and have then been told they have been awarded it.

Has anyone been told over the phone that the claim has been unsuccessful ?

As I have only heard people getting good news when they ring..

Do they wait for the letter to break any bad news ?

Some DM will give you the decison over the phone good or bad, some wont.
Some people insist on phoning everyday disrupting the DM actually trying to make decisions to try and find out. Others are paitent and wait for the letter.

It's highly unlikely there is any policy of sorts that they will only tell you bad news in a letter and not on the phone. Mainly because to the DCS it's not 'bad' news, it's a decision based on the facts of the case and the law.

we have often had money in our account before decision letter has come through.

we were told they wont tell you over the phone either way but ti probably depends on who you speak to.
