I struggle to get a bank account anywhere.

I've found it so hard to get a bank account, I'm 18 and currently unemployed. I need the bankaccount in order to get wages paid into it when I a job. However this isnt possible because i dont have an photographic passport or provisional.
I tried alliance and leicester last year and due to 'securitot aby' reasons i'm unable to find anywhere else.
Is there anywhere where i could try? I'm even finding it hard with the Co Operative bank! Who my mother is with.
Thanks for reading,
Ben

You don't need a passport to open a 'basic' account. Try Halifax easycash, co-op cashminder or a lloyds tsb cash account.0

Most banks ask for photographic ID but will accept other things if you persist. Check the bank's website before you go.0

I have found that the Co-op Cashminder account has worked for me. Infact after 2 years with them I now have my "budget" worked out by having 3 accounts!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

Are you on JSA? Most banks will accept a letter from the benefits office instead of a passport.0

Most places will convert a kids account over to an adult one without a problem ...0 -
