Bits of Broken Glass in Soil?!

As gardens go this is one of the better ones I've had. Some of my glass in the windows is original to the windows but some panes have been replaced, after breakages, no doubt.
Other possible sources are from the midden of an older house, Victorian middens spread on fields later built on, dropped bottles and drinking glasses from parties and barbecues etc, panes of glass from greenhouses, cold frames and cloches. Bits which come in with the rootballs of plants given to us even.
A friend found car window glass near the buried car it came from under a strange hillock in a corner. No longer half of Optimisticpair

My house was built in the 30`s and after removing skip loads of rubble from the garden i then went on to find molten glass about the size of a fist, all the colours of the rainbow!
On the plus side i cleaned them up and used them as garden ornaments. Also the soil that im left with is very rich and fine. Just got to remove a very large tree trunk now :eek:0 -
Ive found tons of rocks, brick, glass, breeze block, wood, nails. If your worried, dig it up to two foot deep and either sieve through or just remove the lot and fill with new top soil and compost, job done.Kind Regards
