Student income/benefits

Hi,
Wondering if there are any student finance experts out there!
Right, I am entitled to income support (and on behalf of my partner who is also a student) for the summer period (we have a dependent and am within 11 weeks of my due date for number 2.) I just wanted to confirm, that student finance is only counted as income for 42/43 weeks of the year. This is on all university sites, I just wanted to check as can't find the regulations regarding this!
Many thanks

Um. Really, student finance is for all of the year. That is why your last instalment is longer and your money in final year is less. However, realistically it never funds summer so people get jobs or return to live out of their parents pockets.
However, when you have children everything changes. If both of you are students with a child then you are eligible for benefits over the summer. How long this is depends on your uni, but you can claim from the last day of term until the first date of the new year.0 -
Thanks for this0
