Hi Sue
He will be back.:D;)
hi, i'm back,
i have doen the calcs, they vary slighly from Di's, here goes.
in total you have been charged £726 for ppi, this including the premiums you paid.
the way it breaks down in as follows
10 monthly premiums of £50 = £500 (this includes interest added to ppi) without the interest the ppi element is 10 x £36.50 = £365
8% simple interest on the £500 paid in premiums and interest = £418
then there is the difference in rebate and premiums paid which is £726 (your total charge ofter rebate) minus the ppi paid by you before interest added (£365 as shown above) = £361, then there is another 8% simple on this amount which is £288
so in total you should get back approx £500 + £418 + £361 + £288 = £1,567
this is the amount you should get back (or there abouts)
cheersI'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
thanks for working that out you and di what we all do without you thanks again0

assuming you have signed the acceptance the will send you a full calculation and how they arrive at the refund figure just before the money is paid.
if you feel its wrong you can complain afterwards, although from what you have mentioned and the way it is to be calculated the figures should be similar.
let us know what come through just out of interest
