We called a Zoo, and adopted a Yak for him We called it Graham. He was so impressed with Graham, he kept the framed photo and certificate in his office, and showed it to lots of clients and visitors!

that's hilarious but brilliant!
i have saved vouchers from ipoints and savin quidco earnings for xmas, plus doing the photo album thing with captions for sister at uni, giving my mam a hand written poem (by myself) in a (cheap) frame decorated by myself, was wondering if it's cheaper to get xmas hamper from butchers? rather than in supermarkets.
tip: i have found that lots of grandma's/grandad appreciate "fruit baskets" or homemade cakes/baked goods.
find a cheap basket or box-find some cheap fruit and mayb nuts fill it up then decorate it yourself.;)official dfw nerd club member no 214
Proud to be dealing with my debts!;)
Why is a person that handles your money called a broker?!

What I've been doing is scouring the boards since January for catalogue codes and free gifts. I've used a couple of codes to get present for free (ie £10 no minimum spend) and some presents by ordering a small item, using the free gift code and the returning the item. some catalogues there is a postage charge, some not. Some of the free gifts are a bit pants (the touch lamp I got was vile , it went to charity and I ended up with some luggage and sunglasses I wasn't expecting!) and a couple I've kept myself (a food blender and a double airbed) but so far I have sorted
Mum art deco style silver watch (La redoute £3.45 postage)
Brother CD player (free from staples, bought a 59p notepad and £3postage)
Sister 1 5 nibbles dishes that spell 'party' (Empire stores voucher code)
Sister 2 quilt with roses on and pillow shams (la redoute 3.45 postage)
Niece denim skirt and three t-shirts/tops (la redoute voucher code)
Nanna 1 Laura Ashley throw (La redoute 3.45 postage)
Nanna 2 Roses throw (la redoute 3.45 postage)
I still have my Dad and Grandad to buy for. I'm collecting piggypoints slowly so I will probably get my dad a CD-wow CD for nothing. i've bought my OH a holiday for us in Benidorm next March. The flights were £43 each in total from a Mail on Sunday offer. I'm scouring for a cheap hotel and own't give up until I find the best bargain!
My niece is 4 and the clothes are lovely, they were in the sale and I had a £10 no minimum spend code. The roses quilt and pillow shams are gorgeous, very 'French' I was very tempted to keep them myself. She has just bought a house on her own, so I am hoping they will make a good addition.
I bought my wrapping paper for 17p a roll in January in Tesco when it was double reduced and it has been under the bed ever since.
I've never been this organised before and i'm blaming MSE!! :rotfl:0 -
lazy&indebt wrote:Good to know I'm not the only one to start planning! Luckily, I've only got 2 sisters, mom, dad, boyfriend and bestmate to buy for. Me and all my other mates just go out and buy each other a drink instead!
I was thinking of a girlie magazine subscription for one sister, but I will have to buy that nearer the time methinks!
If you get the subscription through pigsback > isubscribe - you'll usually get discount AND 1000 piggypoints - 1150 piggypoints is enough for a £10 Boots voucher and for signing up to piggybank you get 100 points and 50 extra points for giving you geographical information!:T

x_raphael_xx wrote:I always try to make my xmas presents, its cheaper and mean more as you've put effort into them. I was scanning the web for ideas and I found something called a Terramundi Pot, its like a piggy bank but with no stopper at the bottom, just a slit for the money, so no-one can raid it early!
When it is full the pot is broken as you make a wish (if you just break off the lid you can use the pot as a planter!).
There are loads of websites that sell them around £15-£16, just type it into google, there are also a couple on eBay.
Great for kids to help them save!
You've just given me an idea there! sister in law wants a holiday for christmas when I asked her :rotfl: in your dreams matey!
But we could get her a piggy like the one you've just said and make it a holiday savings piggy and start her off with abit of money
thank you!
