If people are sooo desperate, then just buy one. It's a competition, not a basic human right.

I NEVER said it was, so wind your neck back in please. I was mearly stating that I dont want to buy a new one incase I win one which is the whole point of this thread! jeez

Snap - my fridge freezer's on its last legs....fingers crossed I'll be lucky but if not I shall be buying one. No point buying one now just in case I get one for free!

True and as this whole site is about fairness, avoiding scams and saving money, you can't go blaming us for being cautious about free offers or spending money when we might not need to at all. Plus until now the dates have been moved several times from day one, first we were told August, then September, October now November. I guess when it happens it happens if it happens. Either way I don't mind not getting one, I've said that from the very start, just like to know it was all fair and just at the end of the day and promises made to my fellow users were upheld on a site that honours its word. I'd like to think that if 900 were set aside for us, as claimed that a good 100 or so would come on here to say "Hey I got one too," like all the rest of the minor freebie offers on here. Nothing strange in that. Don't know why people get so uppity about it.:money:

I think you'll find that the reason some people are getting uppity is that the tone of some peoples comments on this thread practically accuse Npower of foul play before they have even finished the selection process! It's a shame as anyone who stumbles across thread and only reads parts of it may get the wrong idea, Npower will be aware of this and may think twice before involving MSE in any further promotions to avoid it happening again. :(

Cheer up, I wouldn't worry about it so much, it's an inhuman unfeeling company we're talking about here, they've too much to gain to care. Plus if MSE doesn't cover any future farmed out promotion, you're guaranteed someone else will, just Google. :)
  • I have just been cold called from this promotion. I thought it wasn't a marketing process?

The guy who called said I had applied and "congratulations I was elligible to save £255 on my energy bills".

When I said I was happy with my supplier he just put the phone down!

I don't think you can say with 100% certainty the cold call was because of this - unless they said that was how they got your number

The only contact I've had was a door knocker, but he was doing the entire estate as they do from time to time. Had one from another firm last night, and tend to get at least one every 6-8 weeks (I thnk last night was 3rd in 3 months). I simply tell them I'm more than happy with my current supplier and am on a 12 months fixed contract thankyou very much, which gets rid of them quickly enough :) The only one that niggles is when a rep from my supplier comes calling :o

At first I thought I had been one of the lucky ones to get a fridge.

I am very careful about giving out my home number and have definately not applied for anything else from them.

I think they have been sneaky and I suspect I will not be the only one to receive a call.

Does anyone know HOW they will contact us if we have won?
    Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently! ;)
