maid of honour is usually the chief bm
you could have 'guardian of the bride' as her title also write it on the front of a t-shirt with 'cos shes my angel' on the back :)

Best Girl is a nice one, but there's no reason that you can't have her as your Maid (or Matron) of Honour - unless you've already allocated that role of course! Maid of Awesome is one I've seen on American sites too - make her sound like a super hero. :)

Maid of Honour is chief bridesmaid usually yes but unless you have someone else you're calling a maid of honour I don't see why you can't use it for the person giving you away?

You could have a maid of honour and then call your chief bridesmaid chief bridesmaid. The idea behind a maid of honour is they support you on the day and are like a best man.

Your wedding so do it your way with whatever you want! Just because something is 'traditional' doesn't mean it's cast in stone :)

I think it depends on the giver awayer as to what you should call her! I like Guardian Angel but is it too twee for her? Is Bride's Escort or Best Woman too straight-laced? Is Fairy Godmother too silly- although I quite like that and you can probably get a sweet gift with that on! But again... depends on the girl!
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!
