I've often wondered why anyone would buy a car on ebay (other than a real old banger or a non-running restoration project), let alone why anyone would take thousands of pounds in cash to a seller.
Then again, I've always assumed that if someone sounded too good to be true, it probably was.0 -
Not everyone selling cars on ebay is dodgy and fake. Just the same with people who sell mobile phones.Baby Year 1: Oh dear...on the move
Lily contracted Strep B Meningitis Dec 2006  Now seemingly a normal little monster.

I read the gunpoint in the Mirror today, it seems to a bit far fetched.
As the for the bouners, well good luck to them...:beer:0 -

Sure, but would you bid thousands of pounds for a car you've never seen?I read the gunpoint in the Mirror today, it seems to a bit far fetched.
Why? Five grand tax-free for a few hours work must appeal to a lot of criminals, and the odds of them being caught aren't exactly high... just look how far the 419 scammers go to make a few bucks.0 -

We sold our car on ebay. We were totally honest and upfront about it, buyer came from Scotland down to West Mids for it and left a very happy man. Seemed the best way to us to sell an absolutely fantastic car!!
And tbh the same could of happened to someone who advertised their car in autotrader, just a different place to sell. If a scammer is gunning for a car, then they don't care who it is being advertised through.I live in my own little world, but it's ok as everyone knows me here

I reckon this is it http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/MERCEDES-BENZ-KOMPRESSOR-C180_W0QQitemZ250019327724QQihZ015QQcategoryZ9855QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem and notice that he got his feedback high by 99p ebooks. I would have looked at this and been a bit wary i think.0

Any ebook seller suddenly switching to an expensive item, with only 11 feedback and then not even 100% for those 11.
This would bring up more red flags for me then a matadors convention!
Sadly I guess that the buyer only looked at the 92.3% positive feedback. If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0
